Harry Buckoke

Harry plays viola da gamba, lirone and double bass if people ask him nicely. He is a docARTES Phd Candidate at the Orpheus Institute.

Viola da Gamba, Lirone

Harry read English then Aesthetics before studying Viola da Gamba with Paolo Pandolfo. His research examines accompanimental practices based on intabulation and bass line realisation during the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

Harry has appeared on BBC Radio 3, at the London Festival of Baroque Music, Brighton Early Music Festival, Beverly Early Music Festival, the NCEM, St Georges Bristol, St Georges Hanover Square, and St John’s Smith Square. A keen chamber musician, he is a member of the ensembles listed below and also co-manages the Ensemble Lux Musicae London.
